1986 Monte Carlos SS  "The Black Widow"

Back

This Monte Carlo was bought with intentions to have it as a drag car, but to repaint it and fix back up original as a Monte Carlo SS.  It was mainly primered when we bought it, with silver mirrors, a burgundy bumper, and a black hood, so it looked rough, but it ran consistent & great.  We threw around some names for the car, one being "The Queen of Spades", but we decided we'd just fix it back as original as possible, but we didn't have any of the Monte Carlo SS decals.  We found Southern Exposure's site and seen how they could make the "factory" decals for the Monte Carlo SS.  So, we had every intention on having them to do just that.  The first Saturday night that we took the car to the drag strip, before taking it out on the track, we were checking under the hood to make sure all was ready, when a huge spider appeared.  It took the gang 45 minutes to capture and kill this spider, that ended up being a black widow!  So, with that said....the Monte Carlo formed into "The Black Widow", and that name has stuck since.  We emailed the folks at Southern Exposure and told them about our car and parts of our story and they quickly created the perfect design for our car.  Now, "The Black Widow" has been transformed into a one of a kind drag car with a real story that tells just exactly how it became a true drag car named...."The Black Widow".  Thanks a million for your help!!
